I’m contemplating the idea of being Asian. What does that really mean?

It’s funny how much I joke about being Asian but at the end of the day it’s just an idea, something that we allows us to group things together.

Sure I can easily list stuff like Asians are good at math, and that we’re good at technology. But like all good stereotypes it means absolutely nothing when we get to know a person.

I guess the only real conclusion that I can draw from this is that my real identity is that of a human. I can get hurt, I can get mad, and yes there are math problems even I can’t do.

I’m a human being, and I live however I want. How do you live?

I’ve always wanted everyone to respect me and think I’m a good person. In a weird way I’ve been seeking approval from everyone I knew, and that just wasn’t going to happen. All I really need is for the few that really know me to support what I do.

So now as I’m getting ready to head back to Binghamton I just want to finish off this semester and relax.

This is my first time blogging in a while so bear with me, but I’d like to think that maybe I can just get back to it. Maybe make this place possible for creativity and expression.

Thanksgiving is a time where we should just look and be thankful for what we have. I’m thankful because I wouldn’t be who I am and where I am if it wasn’t for all the people around me. I’m thankful for my family who have supported me. I’m thankful for my mentors who have shown me the way forward. And most of all I’m thankful for all of my friends who really made a huge impact on my life, rocking the foundations of my beliefs. Thanks for all the memories and experiences I’ve been given.
